08:20 – Meeting at lake Perućac, control of travel documents, boarding the boat
Perućac is a tourist village on the right bank of the River Drina, 13 km away from Bajina Bašta. In the vicinity there is a large hydroelectric dam where the Drina Lake, 54 km long, begins. Its magnificent canyon stretches all the way to Višegrad.
09:00 – 12:30 – Cruise through the canyon of the Drina river from Perućac to Višegrad
The Drina canyon is one of the deepest in the world, up to 1,000 meters in some parts. Perućac lake is 54 km long and it stretches all the way to Visegrad. Navigating through the canyon of the Drina River you will enjoy in a magical area surrounded by cool green water and forest covered cliffs.
12:30 – 14:50 – Free time for visiting Andrićgrad (Andrić’s town) and the old bridge of Mehmed Paša Sokolović
Situated in the east of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on both banks of the River Rzav, on the spot where the river flows into the Drina, lies the town of Višegrad. The town’s greatest attraction is the bridge over the Drina built by Mehmed Pasha Sokolović in 1571, a bridge described in the Nobel prize winning novel The Bridge on the Drina, written by the Serbian novelist Ivo Andrić. In 2014 Andrić Town was opened for visitors in Višegrad, as a visitor, cultural and educational centre based on an idea by film director Emir Kusturica, inspired by the literary characters of Ivo Andrić. Its architecture is a mix of different eras and styles that passed throughout Višegrad history: the Byzantine style, the Ottoman period, the Renaissance and Classicism.
15.00 – 18:30 – Cruise through the canyon of the Drina river from Višegrad to Perućac, the end of tour
Boat ride through the winding river flow which runs through passages, enjoying the green color which calms and brings deep inner peace to all the visitors. Ending journey next to the the hydroelectric power plant on the Drina River that actually created Perućac Lake. The lake creating did not ruin the true beauty of the region but greatly added to the tourist postcard of Bajina Bašta.
Note:
- Adult citizens of the Republic of Serbia can sail with a valid identity card or passport. Children must have a passport to cross the border, regardless of whether they are traveling accompanied by their parents or not, and additional parental consent if they are not traveling with both parents.
- Foreign citizens are obliged to familiarize themselves with the regime of entry into Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- The deadline for submitting personal data is two days before departure, but reservations are accepted earlier for the entire season. Required data are: first and last name, date of birth, number of a valid identity card or passport and citizenship.
- It’s not possible to board the boat without reservation and submitting personal data.
- Transportation of pets is not allowed.
- Due to sailing conditions, the estimated arrival time may vary by up to 30 minutes.
- In accordance with the Law on Tourism (“Official Gazette of the RS”, No. 17/2019), the trip is not covered by travel guarantees.
- In case of unfavorable weather conditions or low lake water level, the agency reserves the right to cancel the excursion no later than 2 days before the start of the trip.
- In the case of a sudden drop in the lake level and the impossibility of sailing to Visegrad for safety reasons, the alternative would be to sail through the canyon in a length of 24 km to the state border with Bosnia and Herzegovina and back in a total duration of 3 hours 15 minutes at a price of 1,500 rsd per person. We emphasize that this almost never happens (in the previous 8 years it happened only 2 times), but such situations happen suddenly and sometimes do not leave the possibility to inform the passengers in advance about the impossibility of realizing the complete sail.
- The minimum for the implementation of the program is 50 paying passengers. In case of an insufficient number of passengers, the agency reserves the right to cancel the trip no later than 2 days before the day of realization.
