A unique cruise experience through the Drina River Canyon
Excursions are organized aboard the Grizzly 2
The Grizzly 2 is located on Perućac Lake, not far from the Bajina Bašta Hydroelectric Power Plant. It is 23 metres long and 6.7 metres wide, registered for 140 passengers, with 220 seats across two decks. The lower deck is an enclosed lounge, while the upper deck is completely open. The boat was built in accordance with all relevant European and international shipbuilding standards. It is equipped with toilets, a bar, a kitchen, audio and video equipment, life-saving gear, a video projector, TV, and more.
Boat Excursion with Educators from Tara National Park
Location and Topics
The Grizzly is located in an ideal setting for creating outdoor learning experiences.
In cooperation with educators from Tara National Park, several authentic topics can be presented directly from the boat itself, including: Tara National Park, Perućac Lake, the Drina River, the Bajina Bašta Hydroelectric Power Plant, brown bear habitats, Pančić spruce, Republika Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina), and these can certainly be expanded to include the cultural and historical heritage of western Serbia as well as the settlements along the Drina River.
Children can also learn basic information about navigation, how the boat operates, and the rules of conduct on board. Throughout the cruise, in addition to the teachers, the crew members are present at all times to assist and to ensure the children’s safety and proper behaviour on board.
Educational Program
Depending on the school curriculum, the topics can be adapted to match the current lessons.
In addition to live presentations, the boat is equipped with a large TV and a wide range of educational materials provided by Tara National Park, specially prepared for workshops, including tree branches, herbariums, animal cards, magnifying glasses for exploring wildlife, bird-themed materials, educational games, and more.
Children take an active part in the program through conversation, knowledge quizzes, puzzle-solving, and identifying animal tracks.
